On September 22, 2025, the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) hosted a public webinar titled “Research Agenda for Improving Economic and Social Mobility in the United States.” The webinar centered on interpreting and discussing the findings, conclusions, and recommendations of the recent “Economic and Social Mobility” report by the Committee on Population and Committee on National Statistics.
PIRL Director Stefanie DeLuca spoke about the committee's focus on post-secondary education, highlighting the urgency for more research and policy efforts to address the growing inequalities concerning post-secondary education access, completion, and quality.
