On November 5, 2025, PIRL Director Stefanie DeLuca gave a seminar for UCLA’s California Center for Population Research, a research center composed of an interdisciplinary community of scholars striving to further the research of social and demographic aspects of health. DeLuca presented, “‘Colleges that obviously don’t have what you need’: Risk, Social Mobility and the Postsecondary Decisions of Low-Income Students’,”centered around the overarching objective of how to best support young adults navigate paths after high school, by addressing the integral role of post-secondary education in their lives and the disparities that lie within it, forcing many to have an incomplete college education and a more immediate transition to the workforce.
