HUD’s Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program helps low-income families, including over 2 million children, move to neighborhoods with lower poverty and greater access to high-quality schools, health care, jobs, and other resources. Yet, for a number of reasons, many families with vouchers are unable to take advantage of this opportunity. Sens. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) and Todd Young (R-IN) have introduced the Family Stability and Opportunity Vouchers Act to help address these barriers with 250,000 new housing mobility vouchers, targeted to families with young children and paired with support services to help them succeed.
Join BPC and BPC Action for a discussion with housing experts on how the bill would help to unlock the potential of the HCV program and allow more families to move to areas with greater opportunity.
