Claire Zou

Claire Zou is an undergraduate student at the Johns Hopkins University double-majoring in Sociology and International Studies with a minor in Economics.

At PIRL, Claire is an undergraduate research assistant for Stefanie DeLuca’s Creating Moves to Opportunity project, where she codes interview transcripts of CMTO recipients and non-recipients. Since her sophomore year, Claire has also interned at the Center for Social Concern in various positions that allow her to connect JHU students with service opportunities across Baltimore. Claire will be graduating in the spring of 2021 and hopes to serve as a Baltimore City Pubic School teacher, an experience that she believes will significantly inform her future career in education policymaking. When Claire is not in class or at PIRL, she enjoys going to concerts, baking new recipes, and reading fiction. 

Research Interests: urban education reform, teacher and school leadership retention, housing access, intergenerational mobility
